EXECUTIVE and ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COACHING

Executive Coaching brings executives to their next level by identifying new learning and growth opportunities and then providing a host of services, customized to each client: leadership development, management skills, strategic thinking, career transitions and more. Through personalized one-on-one coaching, executives take the necessary risks involved in professional and personal growth, achieve seemingly impossible business goals and experience the joy of expressing their values through their executive decisions.

  • Professional Development
We are learning machines. When we stop learning and growing it can often lead to deep feelings of dissatisfaction and stagnation, no matter what our level of success. Professional development coaching addresses our continuous need to learn by identifying the areas of growth, knowledge acquisition and skill–building that will deliver the kind of satisfaction and stimulation we need to stay engaged in our professional lives. Whether it’s identifying outside interests to pursue, passions to integrate or new responsibilities to campaign for, professional development coaching partners with you as you take that next quantum leap.

  • Leadership Skills
Contrary to popular belief, more often than not leaders are made, not born. Becoming a leader might take ambition, high-performance and political savvy, but maintaining leadership requires a whole new set of skills. Here is the platform that depends less on your technical ability and far more on your people skills. Communication, listening, inspiring others, collaborating, building consensus, strategic thinking, even succession planning – all of these are critical factors in the maintenance and growth of your leadership. Coaching for leadership skills engages all of your faculties in the pursuit of excellence – making your company not only produce its best products and services, but also motivate a terrific workforce.

  • Management Skills
Similar to the challenges of leadership, being a manager demands multiple abilities, including the art of delegation and the complex task of supervising others. Being able to motivate, give effective feedback and create structures and systems that actually work requires confidence, compassion and a mind that is both focused and adaptive. Furthermore, you need the courage and diplomacy to become a champion and advocate for your team. Coaching for management skills will help you delve into your reservoirs of vision, commitment and values–based behavior to unearth the great team leader inside you.

  • Career Transitions
As we grow and change our lives can take unexpected turns. Whether due to a move, the changing economy, or a new found sense of passion and purpose, our careers sometimes come due for a makeover. Navigating unknown terrain, rebuilding self-esteem, learning a whole new way to engage with the marketplace and even redefining how we see ourselves can upset a lot of the assumptions about ourselves and the world. Career transition coaching both guides and facilitates this process so that your reinvention can come from an organic, aligned place and lead you to a joyful new work experience.

  • Presentation Coaching—Public Speaking/Media appearances
Presentation Coaching covers all aspects of communicating with the public, whether it's for an IPO, quarterly meeting, PowerPoint presentation, press conference or broadcast interview. Our goal is to make sure your message is framed as a complete and compelling story and, most importantly, connects to your authentic, values-driven inner voice. Everything from story arc and graphic presentation to coaching for public speaking is covered.

  • Work/Life Balance
Especially challenging for the busy executive, maintaining harmony between one’s professional and personal life can often confound the best of us. When the stress of work or the drama outside the office becomes too much, both our work and our personal lives suffer. For the executive, coaching for work/life balance involves a re-examination of values and assumptions—and time management skills!

More often than not, we carry the concern that devoting ourselves to our families and our personal well-being will impact negatively on the way we are seen professionally. But is this really the case? And if it happens to be (we’re not saying it is), is it a price still worth paying? By penetrating these questions and getting to the bottom of what you really want, coaching for work/life balance promises to bring integration into all aspects of your daily life—making you more effective and dynamic professionally, and more present and available personally.

  • Entrepreneurship
When transitioning from a corporate structure to being the CEO of ME, Inc., we can often feel barraged by more questions than answers: Can I reinvent myself? Will others in the industry accept me? Am I built for being an independent contractor or the founder of a new business? Can I survive the transition—emotionally, psychologically, financially? What kind of foundation do I need—and what if I don’t yet have the tools or skills to build it?

Entrepreneurship coaching calls upon all your inner and outer resources—from your highest-powered connections to your most heartfelt inspiration—so that you can play to your strengths and confront your weaknesses head on. Whether it’s opening a mom-and-pop shop or taking the next “big thing” global, you’ll end up with a life and lifestyle that suits your temperament, your values and your dreams.

ORGANIZATIONAL COACHING

Organizational Coaching helps management, teams, departments and even entire divisions perform in alignment with your company's mission and deliver on its strategic goals. Through skill-training, team-building, group facilitation and occasionally one-on-one coaching, managers and their teams learn how to overcome roadblocks in communication, systems, processes and technology by accessing their highest ability to create, innovate and collaborate.

  • Leadership Skills
Your company is fueled from within by the energy of its leadership. Not only do you need your top executives to be highly competent, committed and visionary, they also need to be great communicators and inspiring leaders. Coaching for leadership skills is all about finding the intersection between passion, values and strategy and turning that into a mandate that taps into the whole’s companies’ reserve of enthusiasm and persistence. When leadership is, engaged, direct and transparent, the most mild to the most charismatic executives can lead your company to sustainable success.

  • Internal Communications
How your organization communicates can affect everything from productivity to morale, reputation to retention. Is there a consistent, reliable flow of information? Are changes in systems, workflow or organizational structure relayed with clarity, timeliness and transparency? Do your managers know how to give and receive feedback effectively and constructively? Does your staff feel respected and acknowledged for their diverse communication styles? A key component of organizational coaching is looking at how the internal communications of your organization are designed, managed and delivered—and making sure they reflect the values and excellence your company aspires to.

  • Organizational Structure
The design of an organization lays the groundwork for everything that follows. Role definition, chain of command and decision-making protocols are just some of the many choices an organization’s leadership must make to guarantee the success of their enterprise. Fail to plan for growth, and you end up with a series of departments unable to coordinate or even communicate with one another; restrict authority too much, and you stifle the very creativity that will distinguish your company as exceptional. Coaching to help structure or re-structure your organization can be one of the most effective ways to save you time, money and resources now—and down the road.

  • Team Performance
Teams are both the sum of their individual participants, and organisms unto themselves. Group dynamics can turn a group of otherwise highly capable, high-performing individuals into an ineffective mess. Getting to the root of misunderstandings, faulty communications, unclear or irrelevant incentives, ill-designed assignment of duties and real or perceived micro-inequities—and providing the right tools to transcend them—can turn a disgruntled and motley crew into a well-oiled team of superstars. Coaching teams is like group therapy for your business—and everyone ends up winning.

  • Group Facilitation
Have a decision to make? A problem to analyze? A crisis that cries out for the best thinking among all stakeholders? Or just need to brainstorm to generate ideas? Group facilitation offers literally dozens of flexibly designed meeting options that can be customized to your particular needs. When time is money, group facilitation is a cost-effective way to get to a solution; creating a safe environment, providing an objective meeting facilitator and protecting the problem-solving process brings your team to an effective resolution with integrity and in record time.

  • Decision-Making/Consensus Building
Two factors are critical to the decision-making process: what the criteria are and what type of process is being used—authoritative, consultative or consensus-based. No matter what ends up being most appropriate for your particular situation, having your decision-making process facilitated can mean the difference between hard-selling a preconceived idea and creating a group of early adopters for a true innovation. So long as the final decision-making authority is clear and the process is inclusive—all parties can walk away feeling represented and become ambassadors for the new directives. That’s a win-win on every count.

  • Systems/Process Improvements
Sometimes our company’s progress outgrows its systems and processes. When this happens, technology can become our best friend—but it’s not a panacea. The way the improvements are decided upon, managed and communicated become as important—if not more important—than the merit of the improvement itself. Do nothing and your employees can feel devalued; make a change “from on high” and you risk resentment, resistance and even backlash..

Not surprisingly, systems and processes are best redesigned by the people who use them; but getting all stakeholders to problem-solve while juggling their day-to-day responsibilities can seem prohibitive. Here’s where a little organization goes a long way, a whole lot of troubleshooting and foresight can save your organization literally hundreds of thousands of dollars, year after year—and you can sustainably build company morale. That means greater productivity on two counts: a better system (or streamlined process) and a highly motivated and empowered workforce. What’s not to like?

LIFE COACHING

Life Coaching is all about setting and reaching goals in the area(s) of your life you wish to focus on most—career, family, relationships, financial stability, spiritual well-being, health and more. No matter what your goals, your life is treated as an artistic endeavor; coaching is used to guide you through your creative process. It's an exciting, challenging and life-changing way to get the results you want.

  • Life Transitions
Our lives go through many phases; and some transitions are voluntary, while others are thrust open us. Jobs and relationships end or move in new directions; our home lives change—whether through downsizing, upsizing or uprooting; we move into or out of retirement; we have losses or additions to our families. Managing change, focusing on growth, gaining insight and renewing or redefining our focus all become important to our sense of well-being and optimism. Coaching through life transitions is all about taking what life has to offer—by happenstance or design—and turning it into a meaningful, enhancing experience that becomes part of our larger vision for ourselves and our future.

  • Relationships
In many ways, our ability to achieve our goals is defined by the success of our relationships. Whether it’s a loving home life, a better work atmosphere or enhanced social interactions, the amount of love, care and support we experience depends on the quality of our relationships. Coaching for relationships assesses our current relationships, examines our goals, and leverages our choices, behaviors and experiences to bring lasting fulfillment into our lives.

  • Health
Our health is the starting point for achieving all our goals. It’s almost impossible to move forward with our career, relationships or any other vision we may have for ourselves without putting our health first. Whether it’s disciplining ourselves with food, diet and exercise, or adding stress-reduction, spiritual connection and balance into our lives, coaching for health takes this most important priority and gets you in gear to tackle the rest of your dreams.

  • Career
We can place many criteria on having a successful work life: meaning, compensation, passion, connection, logistics, industry, role—just to name a few. Developing a new career or advancing the one we already have means taking all these criteria into consideration and developing a vision borne out of your values, passions and goals. Whether you’re entering or re-entering the work force, or transitioning from one career to the next, career coaching will help you get to the next level in a truly integrated and fulfilling way.

  • Work/Life Balance
Too often we see our lives as sacrifices instead of compromises, burdens instead of choices. Everyone needs balance in their lives—but the nature and proportion of that balance is unique to each of us. Examining our values and goals, looking at our choices, finding the leverage to make room for what we treasure most—all become part of the delicate calculus of balancing our professional and personal lives. Coaching for work/life balance looks at our executive functioning skills—especially decision-making, communication and time management—and integrates them with our values to create a sustainable harmony among all the facets of our lives.

  • Entrepreneurship
Going into business for yourself takes time, energy, money, resources – and guts. And although you’re going into business for yourself, it’s not something that you should do alone. All kinds of relationships are needed, from experts and mentors to collaborators and clients. Entrepreneurship coaching synthesizes many of the other forms of coaching mentioned above – career coaching, coaching for work/life balance and life coaching – to give you the foundation, structure and confidence so that you can tap into your greatest and most lasting source of energy: your inspiration.

PERFORMANCE COACHING

  • Role Preparation & Auditioning

5D Performance Coaching for actors takes a five-dimensional approach to the work:

DIMENSION 1: Your relationship to yourself as an artist
DIMENSION 2: The development of your technical skills as an actor
DIMENSION 3: Your relationship to/understanding of your character
DIMENSION 4: Your relationship to/understanding of overall dramatic arc of the (screen)play
DIMENSION 5: Your relationship to your audience

In other words, every dimension of your work is addressed in a constructive, integrative way.

5D Performance Coaching emphasizes the specificity and depth of creating a character and the analytical skill and artistic rigor of delivering the dramatic arc of a scene or monologue. In addition, advanced energetic techniques will be used to prepare the actor to access their emotional life and imagination, open themselves to feedback, and meet their audition & performance goals.

When used for scene study/role preparation, the format—which is highly adaptable—can include the following elements:

• Script Analysis
• Journalistic Report
• Character Bio & Interview
• Daily Activity
• Private Activity
• Private Moment
• Animal Exercise
• Previous Circumstance

Audition Preparation defines the key elements for a successful audition experience, including the “who, what, where, when & why” of the character; previous and conditioning circumstances; and an understanding of style & genre.

Speech & Dialects

GUIDING IDEAL

Our belief is that a world filled with people fully expressing and fulfilling their hearts' and souls' desires is the clearest and fastest way to a peaceful, tolerant and exuberant world; our vehicle is coaching. As a goal-oriented practice, the first step is to ensure that our clients' desired ends are a true reflection of their values and most authentic selves. Once we have identified the most truly aligned goals, there are several levels on which we set about working together to achieve them; there are, therefore, as many dimensions at which we can encounter obstacles. At 5D Energy Coaching, we look at all those internal levels—psychological, cognitive/behavioral, and energetic—holistically, and address any obstacles at the level(s) at which they are occurring. Our approach is to help make our clients aware not only of the nature of their obstacles, but also of the tools with which to overcome them. With consistent and supported practice, our clients can overcome these obstacles with increasing confidence and decreasing support. At this point, our work may come to a natural end; or a new set of goals, requiring even more internal "stretching," may surface, requiring additional self-mastery. With this in mind, the greatest compliments we receive are referrals from clients who feel our work together has created more independence, clarity and mastery within themselves towards their own joy, fulfillment, and success.

TESTIMONIALS

"I have always believed in coaching... In fact, I launched  a coaching company, Total Talent Solutions, in the early 2000's--so my standards are very high. When Ari and I started working together, I was reluctant and resistant. Yet I found her ways to be unusually effective. She got right to the heart of my issues and had very imaginative ways of working. Her work with energy clearing and futuring is transformational; it is comprehensive, swift and superb. I believe Ari has changed my life and work in a profound way; I highly recommend engaging with her."

— Sunny Bates, author, serial entrepreneur, mentor/curator of ideas, talent and disruption Sunny Bates Associates/Red Thread
sunnybates.com

Ariane is a miracle worker plus super lovely to work with! She helped me enormously. Working with her was both fascinating and joyful. We worked on a chronic health problem, and I'm still kind of amazed to say that after two sessions my symptoms began to disappear.  As a visual artist and writer I felt like she was immediately someone I could trust and connect with on a deep level. Since working with her 4 months ago my symptoms are 90% better and I am so grateful. I feel like she opened an invisible door for me.  The sessions with Ariane were profoundly interesting. She is highly professional, warm, intuitive, generous, and skilled at what she does. She is very resourceful and willing to go to great lengths to explain things. I will definitely call on her again if in need. Thank you! Thank you!”

—Amanda Marchand, photographer and writer
amandamarchand.com

"I have worked with Ari for nearly a decade, and what she brings to me is clarity — at times when I was searching for answers, and trying to sort through heartbreak and sorrow, she helped me see the light.  I began to understand how to look for the truth, and cut through misperceptions and runaway emotions … in both my personal and business life.   At times, it was as if  light bulb went off, and I thank her for those “aha” moments."

— Jane Hanson
Broadcast News and Media Coaching superstar
janehanson.com

"One of my biggest challenges when I met Ari was in negotiating, in salary as well as boundaries in the workplace.  On the former, the work can be done on the front end and then maintained through a regular schedule.  The more difficult work was, and still is, in negotiating and maintaining healthy boundaries with my colleagues as well as my team.  Ari clarifies the essence of the need and empowers me with the strength to focus.  She centers me on why each boundary is important and how to best communicate that need outward to upper management as well as downward to my own team. Ari is the bright bulb every dark path needs.  The challenge for a creative person is focus and filtered insight is Ari's greatest gift."

— C Giegerich, Digital Strategist
Los Angeles, CA

"Ari has worked with me for over 8 years. During this time, as a result of Ari's coaching, I met my life partner, moved to a new city, revamped my business and started others that better reflect my values, and in general, take better care of myself. Ari brings wisdom and intuition gleaned from her own self-exploration and a wonderful ability to listen. She captures the essence of what matters to me while providing the insight to help frame my options so I make the decisions that best support me. Ari finds the bigger truths and motivates me through inspiration."

— Steve Weinberg,marketing executive,
Owner, National Foundry Products, Inc.

"As one who has investigated myriad methods of self-improvement, spiritual growth and awareness, I thought I'd arrived at my destination with the creation of my life-long dream. Little did I know I was at the start of a challenging new journey! Providence intervened in the guise of Ariane Brandt, whose uncanny insights, intelligence, and sheer common sense provided me with the skills and confidence necessary to forge ahead. My dream of a 21st century salon is manifest. I believe Ariane is the embodiment of all I sought in a coach. For the more earthbound, she is a dynamic, clear-sighted force who can set a concrete business plan in motion and make it work."

—Nancy Manocherian
the cell, New York City

"The key thing I learned from working with Ari Brandt was the importance of building into my schedule time to reflect and strategize. This has helped me to work more proactively in the whirlwind that is my office. Ari also helped me to negotiate some tricky supervision challenges, and I think I’m a better manager for it. Further, I appreciated tremendously that Ari took time to point out and articulate what I was already doing well. It was good to know I had strengths I hadn’t even noticed. This gave me confidence to express and act on my point of view even more than I had done before. And her “cheerleading” simply gave me an emotional boost! Finally, Ari’s conviction that work can be a manifestation of one’s beliefs and values as well as the passion, energy and creativity she brings to her own work moved and inspired me to bring even more of myself to all that I do."

—Scott Loane
Student Services Director
Department of Drama,
Tisch School of the Arts, NYU

"Ari was amazing to work with around concerns that I was experiencing at work. Not only did she walk me through sorting out a challenging issue with an employee, but she also empowered me to recapture an effective work/life balance (some days I was able to regain as many as 4 hours for my personal life, which was unheard of before). Ari helped me to stay true to my personal commitments and goals while keeping everything running just as effectively in the office. I couldn't have asked for a better coach!"

—B. Fiorito
Hotel Revenue Manager
Long Island, NY

“I have great respect and admiration for Ari Brandt. My high recommendation of her services comes from her work with my client Rudy Rush, who at the time was the host of “It’s Showtime at the Apollo.” The strain on Rudy’s voice was tremendous. Rudy was required to tape 12 one-hour shows over four days. Rudy needed to maintain his voice, introduce the acts and entertain an audience of near 1500. I hired Ari for her expertise in voice coaching and got so much more. She helped my client Rudy Rush not only with his diction, but also helped him find his own voice and pacing when announcing acts. Once Rudy had a firm foundation, Ari was able to help Rudy build on his strengths and break down the scripts and handle the large amounts of text he had to memorize and the script on the teleprompter. Rudy was able to use Ari’s skills in every aspect of his professional career. As a stand up comedian, Rudy was able to deliver his sets more efficiently. As the host of a television show he was able to maintain control of a 1500 -plus audience in attendance and infuse excitement into each introduction and each portion of the program. Lastly, he was able to shake some of the regional aspects of his speech which allowed this Harlem-born comedian to be effective as the morning radio show host in Dallas, Texas. Ari is truly a gifted and dedicated professional. I will always highly recommend her to anyone in the industry and when the opportunity arises, I hope to use her again.”

—Keith Sage-EL
Manager, Inner City Artist Management
Producer, IT'S SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO

“I had the pleasure of working with Ariane on a documentary television show called FAKING IT for TLC [The Learning Channel]. We were taking Brian Casey, a ‘slacker pizza dude from Seattle’ and training him to fake it as a world class chef in NYC. Ari was hired to help our faker at first as just an acting coach, but through the process she definitely brought a ton of her healing and life coaching skills to the table as well. Ari is smart, patient, playful and ready for most any curve ball I threw at her. She was a pleasure to work with, and I know that Brian could not have made it without her. And yes, that’s right, with the help of Ari, Brian did fake it, and better than that: upon returning to Seattle, he enrolled himself in the Seattle School of Culinary Arts. Thanks Ari!”

—Scott Hamilton Kennedy
Director/Producer, FAKING IT- “CHEF”

“Thank you so much for all your work which has enabled these young actors to give of their best.  Diction was on of my greatest fears earlier on, but your work eliminated the problem.  In particular Anisha and Ayesha have really begun to discover their voices which is very exciting.  I do hope you’ll continue your association with the show.  Love and best wishes—

—Steven Pimlott, Director
Bombay Dreams (Broadway

“Acting requires one to go to vulnerable places, places many of us fear to go.  Ari understands this and understands the need to break down barriers that block our creative and emotional flow.  She provides a safe haven for exploration.  A place where I am able locate my emotions and know when I leave I will be able to tap into the same emotions in front of an audience.  With Ari’s guidance I have become more educated in my scene and script analysis.  I never feel stuck, because Ari has taught me an array of techniques, each one lending itself to a different purpose.  Ari makes me feel free and unlimited in my acting ability.  She has helped me find the tools within myself, and become confident as an actress.  I started working with Ari when I was 15.  Now I can say that she has not only been instrumental in my growth as an actress, but also as a person.  Ari has truly become a friend.  Someone I talk to about more than acting, someone I trust.  The past five years have solidified for me that I want the arts to be my life long profession.  I know that Ari will continue to be part of this journey.”

—Laura Breckenridge, actress
THE CRUCIBLE (Broadway), RELATED (WB), HIT & RUN, SOUTHERN BELLES

“I have worked with Ari for three years and anticipate doing so for the rest of my career.  I came to her as a beginning actor, new to New York but very excited to get to work.  Ari immediately embraced my passion while providing me with the necessary honesty, wide-ranging knowledge and incredible support I needed to grow as an actor.  With each new step, each new challenge, Ari has been there for me with the perfect nugget, whether it was helping me find a character, analyze a script or simply understand that I already had it and I just needed to trust myself.  I look back and realize I how much I learned from Ari and how much I use it everyday.  While I continue to work with her, the wonderful thing is that I need her less and less.  And that is truly a testament to her unwavering commitment, immense skill as a teacher and energy as a person”.

—Brian Letscher, Guest Star: NYPD BLUE, LAW & ORDER

“I think what I find unique about your coaching is that you create such a positive, encouraging space where one can feel safe to explore things one wouldn’t feel comfortable otherwise, but at the same time, you don’t let anyone off easy! This is a unique combination—challenging the student to take deep risks, but giving them the nurturing environment where they feel able, and even look forward to doing so.”

—Emily Dorsch, actress, Yale School of Drama 2007

“You are totally honest and don’t let anyone slide but there is great kindness and thorough explanation with your feedback.  Everyone comes away feeling like they really understand what is working and not working in their delivery. You are holistic in your approach, so the actor’s entire life is examined and brought into the role they are playing.  I have seen you actually heal people’s lives with your coaching and yet they can still bring the angst needed to the character.  You brilliantly show us how to both connect to and separate from the character. You also bring out the hidden gem in people...In each class, we are all wonderfully surprised by some piece of brilliance about ourselves or the character we are playing.”

—Diane Ragsdale, performer, Fortune 500 coach, sketch comedy writer

“Your class feels extremely safe—not in a cloistered way, but in a way that is free of negativity, that ensures adventure and exhilaration.  There is a harmony in your approach to the work that truly seems in service of humanity and is unlike any approach I’ve experienced in an acting class or otherwise.  Focusing on character has brought me back to my initial inspiration to make theatre, and for one of the first times in my life, I feel like I’ve found a home.  Your intelligence, your life’s focus, your championing and acceptance, and your ability to empower are inspiring!

 —Jenny Deller, actress & writer

“One of the unique things about Ari’s coaching is that she comes from such an incredibly well-rounded background herself; when one creates a character with her help, all the bases are covered.  She attacks the intellectual, visceral, and spiritual.  Also, the coaching with Ari doesn’t end in the class or in her privates.  Ari is so committed to helping the actor pursue the role that she often gives thought, information, and help after the session.  This keeps the actor consciously and unconsciously continually working and learning about the part.”

—Chris Kerson, actor

“I was not satisfied with the level of acting that I was on.  A friend recommended Ariane Brandt and a year and a half later I’m still studying with Ariane.  I have no need to go elsewhere.  Her 6 step method for role preparation is amazing.  If forces you to become deeply married to your character!  Ari definitely helped me to get to the next level in my acting I was looking for.  I tell everyone about her!”
